Frequently asked questions

Can I convert long documents?

Yes. The conversion happens in your browser and works with long blocks of text.

Is my text stored?

No. The tool does not send your text to a server.

What is title case?

Title case capitalizes important words while keeping short connecting words lowercase in most situations.

Choose the case style that matches where the text will be used

Case conversion is useful when text has been copied from spreadsheets, documents, code or forms with inconsistent capitalization. The right output depends on context: sentence case suits normal prose, title case is useful for headings, and uppercase is best reserved for short labels where emphasis is intentional.

Case conversion does not rewrite grammar

The tool changes letter casing; it does not decide whether a proper noun, acronym or brand name needs special capitalization. After converting a long passage, quickly review names such as iPhone, GitHub, YouTube or country and company names.

For code and structured text

Be careful when changing case in source code, filenames, URLs or identifiers. Some systems are case-sensitive, so converting them can change meaning or break a reference. Use the tool mainly for human-readable text unless you know the target format rules.

When automatic case conversion needs a manual review

Case conversion is mechanical. It can change uppercase and lowercase characters quickly, but it cannot reliably know whether a word is a brand, acronym, code symbol or proper noun. Review names such as GitHub, iPhone, API, SQL and product model numbers after converting a long passage.

Title case differs between style guides

Publishers do not all use the same title-capitalisation rules. This tool provides a practical conversion for quick editing, not a replacement for a specific editorial style such as APA, AP or Chicago.

Code and passwords

Do not run source code, passwords, API keys or other case-sensitive identifiers through a case converter unless you intentionally want to change them. Changing letter case can make those values invalid.
