Privacy Policy · Account V1
Your privacy matters.
Public troubleshooting stays available without an account. This policy explains the additional information used when you choose to create an ITFixLab account.
Local progress and cloud accounts are separate
ITFixLab can use browser local storage for troubleshooting checkpoints, completed fixes, inspected commands, device-profile labels and saved analytics summaries. Account identity and profile data are stored separately in cloud services. Logging out does not automatically erase local browser storage on that device.
1. Public browsing and account data
You can use public Guides, Fixes and Tools without an account. If you create an account, ITFixLab may process your email address, authentication user identifier, unique username, profile bio, account tier/state, policy-consent versions and timestamps, and account-security/recovery information needed to operate sign-in.
Your password is handled by the authentication provider and is not stored in ITFixLab browser local storage.
2. What is public on your profile
Your username, avatar, membership state and any bio you choose to save may be visible as part of community/profile features. Free accounts use the standard ITFixLab icon avatar. Full Premium members may upload a custom avatar; ITFixLab crops and compresses the image in the browser and uploads the optimized avatar file to Supabase Storage. The original source image is not intentionally uploaded by this feature. Your email address is private and is not displayed on your public profile.
3. Authentication and email providers
ITFixLab uses Supabase for account authentication and account/profile data. Transactional account emails such as verification and password recovery are delivered through configured email infrastructure, currently Brevo. These providers process the technical information needed to provide those services under their own terms and privacy practices.
4. Browser-based experiences
Many ITFixLab tools process information directly in your browser. When a tool is described as browser-only, its working input is not intentionally uploaded to an ITFixLab server by that tool. Do not enter passwords, private keys, recovery phrases, payment-card details or similarly sensitive secrets into troubleshooting tools unless a page clearly requires and explains that processing.
5. Analytics, cookies and local storage
ITFixLab uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website usage and improve navigation, content and performance. Analytics and other service providers may process browser/device information, approximate location, referring pages, interactions, session data, IP address or similar technical identifiers. Cookies and local storage may also be used for functionality, security and saved progress.
6. Advertising, affiliate and external services
ITFixLab may use advertising, affiliate links or third-party services. If these features are enabled, those providers may process data under their own policies. Commercial relationships do not change our goal of giving useful information, and sponsored or affiliate relationships may be identified where appropriate.
7. Why account data is used
Account data is used to create and secure your account, verify email ownership, recover access, provide a persistent username/profile, remember account-linked features, enforce product limits, record policy acceptance, prevent abuse, respond to support requests and operate future community features.
Creating an account does not automatically opt you into marketing. Any marketing consent is separate and optional.
8. Consent and policy-version records
At signup, ITFixLab records the versions of the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines that you accepted, together with an acceptance timestamp. If a material policy change affects account/community use, ITFixLab may ask you to review and accept the updated version.
9. Retention and inactive free accounts
A free account becomes eligible for deletion after 100 consecutive days without authenticated activity. We intend to warn before deletion, and signing in resets the inactivity timer. Active Premium accounts are exempt from the standard free-account inactivity rule; after Premium ends, the free rule resumes from the later of expiry or the last authenticated activity.
Account, security or support records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, dispute handling or legal obligations.
10. Account deletion and public contributions
You can request account deletion through ITFixLab support. Private account-linked data will be handled according to the deletion process in effect at the time. If public posts/comments are enabled, useful public contributions may be retained to preserve discussion context while removing the account identity and displaying the author as Deleted User where practical.
11. Account/community age rule
For the first public account/community release, ITFixLab account registration is limited to people aged 18 or older. Public troubleshooting pages remain available without an account. Do not create an account if you do not meet the account age requirement.
12. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures such as email verification, least-privilege database rules and authenticated account operations. No online system can guarantee complete security. Service providers may process data in countries other than your own, subject to their infrastructure and applicable requirements.
Advanced YouTube SIGNAL
Advanced SIGNAL uses YouTube API Services. Public channel and video data is fetched on request. If you choose Connect YouTube, Google asks for read-only YouTube and YouTube Analytics access. We use this access only to display your channel's authorized reports.
The short-lived Google access token stays in browser memory and is transmitted over HTTPS to our server for the report request. This version does not store Google tokens or YouTube reports in our database, browser storage or application logs. Channel IDs you save to your watchlist, membership access and daily request usage are stored with your ITFixLab account. Removing a watchlist item deletes that saved preference.
Disconnect YouTube clears the owner report and requests revocation of the Google connection. You can also revoke access through Google Account permissions. To request deletion of account-linked watchlist and usage data, contact us using the details below. See the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
13. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion of personal data associated with your account, or raise a privacy grievance. We may need information sufficient to verify the request. Use the Contact page or email itfixlab.help@gmail.com.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when account/community features, providers, analytics, advertising or legal requirements change. Material account-related changes may require renewed acceptance.
